Steinbrueck Not Running for Mayor

By Josh Feit April 17, 2009

The Seattle Times' Joni Balter got the scoop
. Balter reports:
Steinbrueck will be spending the first of the next four years in Cambridge, Mass. He landed a prestigous urban design fellowship at Harvard University, as he says, "researching the politics, principles and plan for urban sustainability of U.S. cities.''

Team Nickels has to be psyched. Steinbrueck was the one candidate who could have stitched together the perfect Seattle coalition that represented both the old-school neighborhood Seattle that continues to sway elections and the new urban/techie Greens who are starting to impact local politics.
