It looks like PubliCola's DC correspondent isn't the only reporter who's smitten with U.S. Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA, 5).

In their latest issue, the conservative The Weekly Standard profiles McMorris Rodgers for being that rare, staunchly pro-life woman in Congress and (making the Palin comparisons that have been coming fast for rising star McMorris Rodgers), they lauded her for being a mom of a child with down syndrome.

They also make a Margaret Thatcher comparison!

And you thought liberal Sens. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell and Governor Gregoire were Washington state's leading ladies.
