Underground Girl Knowledge
Given this morning's budget announcement, it's appropriate that today's the day we're kicking off our new weekly series of interviews with all-stars who work for non-profits. (You know, those groups that are taking in on the chin in this year's budget.)
Steven Blum kicks off "Money Where Mouth Is" interviewing Stacy DeLong, a tireless organizer with Planned Parenthood—which is currently fighting to restore $10 million in critical funding for women's healthcare.
But you get enough of the policy and talking heads all day long here on PubliCola. It's not that we don't care about Stacy's heroic work—we do! we do!—but we also believe these Mother Teresa-types in the non-profit trenches aren't as boring as Mother Teresa. They have real lives. They go to punk rock shows. They date boys.
