Parade of Pets: Best Dressed List
February 11, 2011

Baxter Brown has come to accept the fact that he is too cute for words and that he has to sit for photo shoots when his mother dresses him up in random costumes: "I don’t mind the attention, I just can’t stand all the stuff she makes me wear."

Deegan ’s first Halloween.

Cuvée is a black labrador retriever that lives at SageCliffe Resort in Quincy, Wash. She came to the property through an employee as a pup and was named after Cave B Estate Winery’s prize-winning red blend, Cuvée du Soleil.

Gracie loves to go night-night.

We got Diggers this Seahawks jersey because he was cold. He really liked it—and the attention. He turned into a little Seahawks fan instantly.

Bones is the mascot for the Woodman Lodge Steakhouse and Saloon—always happy to dress up and go for a ride! His favorite steak bone is the Cowboy ribeye.

I call this picture "Tango and Fish." The story is that I bought a couple of goldfish and put them in a bowl on my coffee table. Every night Tango would stand up on the table and put his paws or face on the bowl, and the fish would come to the side he was standing on! They would interacted with each other for an hour or so, and sometimes, Tango would even look under the coffee table to see if he could get to them from there. Very entertaining!

Modeling her new winter coat, Bella, a miniature dachshund, can get away with just about anything!

Wrigley is a six-month-old Bernese Mountain Dog. He loves spending time at his grandparent’s house on the Hood Canal where this picture was taken. As you can see, he is a Huskies fan through and through. While someone who doesn’t know him would look at this picture and think, "What a handsome, noble dog!", all Wrigley is really thinking is, "Which seagull do I chase first when this ridiculous photo shoot is over?" Wrigley is not really into the paparazzi that surrounds him 24/7.

I put this necklace on her, and she went into a zen-catatonic state of misery, which made a cute photo. She doesn’t like to accessorize.

Maris Otter was caught in a fishing net on the streets of Taipei by an animal rescue group and sent to Seattle for adoption. Because he’s a former street dog, Seattle is all new to him! He’s getting used to the Seattle rain in this photo.

Just another day at the beach for Daisy, relaxing in the sun.

Rocco rings in the new year! He’s a six-year-old King Charles Cavalier and official greeter at Velocity Art and Design when he’s at the store. He’s quite the ladies man, always going for the kiss (with tongue) or full paw hug.

Roger is a five-year-old Basset Hound mix I found through a local shelter. He’s the perfect party pooch!

In the springtime I dye Koko ‘s head a little citrus yellow, anticipating the increasing rays we’ll get in Sequim. His blond, labradoodle curls soak up these canine dyes well and he’s unusually "springy" for some time after. You should see him at Lavender Festival time!

Jasper turned four this year and of course had to have his own party and party hat! His two little girls got him ready for the festivities, and oh, what a party it was!

Hanging out the window at 30 to 40 mph, squinting in the Seattle sun, Koby needs his Doggles!

We took our frenchie Louie to Petco to get his first rain coat. I don’t think he liked this one.

Stitch was a stray I adopted from Seattle Animal Shelter. I have had him for eight months. My second love is diving and sharks, so what better combination for Halloween? He is not happy that I am sharing this picture.

Cleo is the BEST Step-Dog in the whole wide world.

This is Rufus in his Doggles. He loves wearing them in the convertible. He will poke his nose at them hanging on the mirror before we go if the top is down. He is a puggle and the love of my life!

Ponch ’s groomer gave him some new T-shirts for Christmas. Even though they were a bit tight, we squeezed him into one and snapped this cute picture!

Bernie (aka Bernimal) was a dinosaur this year for Halloween and loved his costume so much, he wore it the next day to the park to show it off!

Stitch had been abused, his pelvis broken in three places, which had never received medical attention. He loves attention, and after being given a decorative collar he began trying to put items on himself because he liked the response. When he is dressed up he actually struts as he walks down the street. This picture was taken at a summer event, sporting his Hawaiian shirt. He was, as usual, the hit of the party and an excellent host.
