Parade of Pets: Awwww
February 11, 2011

Lucy is a West Highland Terrier who enjoys playing in the snow, going for long walks in the park, Pet Fashion Shows, and Happy Hour at Norms.

This is Olive. Olive is clearly quite brilliant.

A local pet store Lucky Dog Oufitters called Cascade Bulldog Rescue to let them know there was a Frenchie on craigslist, and it looked sketchy. They decided to give the owner a call to learn more, and she sounded pretty shady from the get-go. They couldn’t stop thinking about him and set up an appointment to go see him. The owner had Stitch living outside in a makeshift kennel tied together with zip ties. He had so many fleas and some bald patches, and he was just a little beasty. His ears were swollen shut from infections, and his mouth was smelly from all the rotting teeth. They decided that they were going to get him no matter what, so they bought him. The owner acted like it was so hard for her, but she didn’t really care about him. The rescuers tried to make him as comfortable as they could—bathed him, fed him some good food—and right away, he was so cuddly. He just wanted to be loved. They realized they needed a plan for him because they weren’t looking to get another dog. I adopted him in December 2009 and now he lives the sweet life in Belltown. I get to bring him to work everyday. He is such a special dog. Thanks to Cascade Bulldog Rescue for being very helpful and stepping up to take him for us and get him rehabed!

Ansel spent the day at his Aunt Leah’s house the day this picture was taken. She agreed to watch him while I was away. Although he’s a cutie, he has a naughty side. When I came to pick Ansel up, Leah was tired. He had been running circles around her and her puppy Lily all day and had worn them out.

I took this photo of my Shiba Inu Mango after bringing him home. He was mid-yawn. Mango will be two years old in March, but he was six weeks old in this picture.

Coco never sits still. To get him to "Smile" for this picture, we were holding a large piece of Tillamook cheddar cheese about 12 inches from his cute little face!

We were at a pet fair in Chicago before moving here, and a pet photographer caught this image of Tonka laughing. Tonka is half–Shiba Inu and half–Lhasa Apso.

Missy always starts out sleeping on her side, but inevitably rolls over onto her back while she’s in a deep sleep. This time I accidentally woke her up mid-sleep, and she looked at me like, "Can’t you see that I’m sleeping!"

This is Madison hiding from the vacuum behind the floor pillows on the sofa.

I woke up to this adorable face looking at me on one Saturday morning. Vector likes to sleep on the pillow with me, usually on my head. He’s more like a little cat than a chihuahua!

Our Christmas puppy (yellow lab) Tucker waiting for Santa.

We had planned to wait until after the holidays to adopt a dog, but when we saw three-month-old Sadie in October, we just could not pass her up!

Humphrey Mogwai is constantly sticking out his tongue (we think he knows it is incredibly cute). In this photo he is waiting to run around at the dog park.

We have a pug, Snuffy, who is 12. For a long time, we wanted to get another one. We went to a store downtown, next to the Pike Place Market, and a family brought in these adorable pug puppies, hence, our new now-one-year-old, Iggy, eight weeks here.

There is no interesting story. This is the day I fell in love with Zeus and decided he had to be in my life forever.

Lacy is a Mini Schnoodle. She came to us via air carrier from Ohio. From the very beginning, she knew just what we wanted, and we are extremely blessed with her around. She is two years old, and it never gets old to come home to her jumping around, excited to see us. We are excited to come home to her too! She can do numerous tricks: talk, lay down, roll over, stand and spin, shake, etc—a very smart, fast learner. She’s the love of our lives!

Krickett is a one-year, nine-month-old Yorkie and just loves to have fun with everyone! Likes: Momma, chicken, bananas, sparkle ball, Crazy Chicken, Mr. Squirrel, Mr. Carrot, Xandyr aka Buffalo Butt, Maggee "The Scottish Terrier," Chaos "The Great Dane," car rides, feathers, and swimming. Dislikes: the word "NO," cold/rainy days, when Dad leaves me home alone, anything touching my ears, and baths.

Peanut is very patiently waiting for me to complete my accounting homework so that we can take a walk. He started out waiting on the floor, then moved to my side, and then ended up almost sitting (like a gentleman) on my homework. Peanut is a rescue dog we adopted just over two years ago. He really likes his walks.

Teddy is a five-month-old Westie puppy. For years, I have wanted a Westie, often dropping hints to my husband in the form of photos. On my birthday this year, I opened the door, and there he was—MR. TEDDY! In this photo, Teddy is enjoying a stroll around Greenlake where we met a friend. Teddy insisted on chewing on this stick, resulting in an adorable photo!

Ziggy Moki Falcore Snuggle Tang is his full name! Vets thought Ziggy had a liver shunt when he was a puppy and would not live long, but he will be turning two on March 18th and is a happy healthy pup!

This photo illustrates how adorable Piper is at any given moment. I have others depicting action—she is obsessed with tennis balls—but to discern this Spaniel/Dachshund mix’s charm, you only need to look at her sweet face.
