March Is Portland Dining Month

Been considering a food weekend in our gastronomically glorious neighbor to the south? Tomorrow kicks off the best month for it.

Last week this space dispensed tips for navigating this year’s Dine Around Seattle, the Monday-through-Thursday promotion where 47 selected restaurants prepare prix fixe ($33) three-course dinners, March 6–31.

Starting tomorrow, Portland Dining Month does us several better: An every-night-of-the-week promotion where over 120 restaurants offer prix fixe ($29) dinners, the whole darn month.

More restaurants, more nights, smaller tabs: very little not to love here, folks.

Check out the list of participating Portland restaurants, and note that amid the chains and lower-end joints that tend to go in for such promotions are gems like Gabriel Rucker’s Little Bird Bistro and the Russian charmer—and 2014 Portland Monthly Best Restaurants short lister—Kachka.
