Free Fries at Pike Street Fish Fry
The Capitol Hill hole-in-the-wall is once again dishing out free french fries this Friday. No beverage purchase is necessary but there are drink specials from 3-7pm including $3 shots of Jim Beam.
Skillet Hosts a Backyard Barbecue
The diner's Ballard location is saying farewell to summer with a backyard barbecue on Friday at 5pm. The $35-per-person dinner includes barbecue classics like smoked short ribs and grilled summer vegetables. You can add a cocktail pairing with each course for $15 or drink a la carte for $8. If you can't make it this Friday fear not, there will be a second and final barbecue on Friday September 11. Reservations are recommended.

Free Burgers at Li’l Woody’s
From 2-5pm on Labor Day, the Capitol Hill and Ballard burger spots are giving out free hamburgers to all customers. There is a one-burger-per-person limit and toppings and add-ons cost extra. Brace yourself for lines. These seasonal events always gather a crowd.
The Barrel Thief Hosts Single Cask Nation Whiskey Tasting
The Barrel Thief and Single Cask Nation are collaborating for a whiskey tasting event at the Fremont bar on Monday at 7pm. On the night, the whiskey company will take over the bar to showcase some of their finest whiskeys from across the world. Food will also be served throughout the three-hour event and tickets are $25. Author Leanne Brown Comes to Town
Leanne Brown, author of Good and Cheap: Eat Well on $4/Day will be at Pike Place Market’s Atrium Loft on Tuesday at 2pm to sign copies of her bestselling cookbook and discuss her favorite cost effective recipes. The print edition, which was funded by Kickstarter, features healthy recipes for people with very tight budgets, particularly those on food stamp benefits.

For the month of September, and to celebrate the start of the NFL season, the pastry and pie shop is offering free piroshkies to customers who wear a Piroshky T-shirt. You can also get 20 percent off your purchase when you don your best Seahawks gear on game days. Simply mention the game day discount to the cashier.
Craft Beer and Food Returns
Craft Beer and Food, an event produced by the Washington Beer blog, returns for its fifth year on Wednesday October 21 at the Palace Ballroom. The event, which kicks off at 6pm, gives guests the chance to sample up to 12 different food and craft beer pairings from local restaurants and breweries including Capitol Cider, Brave Horse Tavern, Pike Brewing, and Two Beers Brewing. Tickets are $40 each and are guaranteed to sell out. In addition to the main beer and food tasting evening, there will be a series of smaller events and offers throughout the week including beer dinners, special pairing menus, and a cooking class with Black Raven Brewing at Tom Douglas’s Hot Stove Society.
