This meme, er, man will be out and about on Monday.

Cinco de Mayo couldn't have come at a worse time this year, considering the major lime shortage posing challenges to Mexican-inspired drinks and dishes around the city.

Unfortunately, we can't reschedule.

As a result, many bars and restaurants will be serving up lemons (or higher priced limes) during the annual day of citric fiestas. We recommend bringing your own bag of limes everywhere (EVERYWHERE!) you go until the shortage ends. Here are a few places where you can save some dollars off your bar tab to aid that effort.

Cinco de Mayo may only be one day on the calendar, but at the Capitol Hill institution this year's dia will last a full weekend. The restaurant will be serving up its usual happy hour specials all weekend, with a voucher redeemable on Monday. Those who remain lucid enough to retain small pieces of paper over the course of a bar-filled weekend can return on Monday to redeem said voucher for a Poquitos holiday T-shirt (and drink a little more, if the ol' liver doesn't complain too much).

Cantina de San Patricio
Saint Patrick apparently doesn't limit himself to Irish holidays. The restaurant named for his Mexican drinking persona is also extending its celebration of cinco to include el dos, tres, and quatro de Mayo. Live entertainment and menu and drink specials start Friday at 3 and last through the cantina's operating hours on Monday.

Over on 12th Avenue, Barrio has stretched Cinco de Mayo into a two-day affair, lasting Sunday through Monday. Starting at 2pm both days, the Mexican restaurant will offer a special menu with various drink specials including half off select neat tequilas. No extra savings for keeping your table tidy. On the Cinco itself, the patio bar will open with $9 margaritas and discounted palomas.

El Quetzal
Sunday brunch in Beacon Hill just became an event, as El Quetzal will be hosting a champagne brunch replete with authentic flavors from Mexico. At $25 a ticket ($20 if bought in advance), the brunch may not help you save for your bag of limes, but the proceeds go toward Entre Hermanos' efforts to aid the latino LGBT community through health, education, and other support. Plus, there will be live music from Latin Jazz group Los Buhos.

King's Hardware
From 3pm to close, Ballard Ave's purveyor of intoxicating social lubricants will be celebrating with Danny Trejo! He won't be there,  you know, physically or actually, but Machete will be playing on a constant loop while patrons knock back $2 Tecates,  $3 Victoria drafts, and $5 taquitos. We've never met Danny, but based solely on absolutely zero information we're pretty sure he wants to be there.

Cuatro de Burro
There will be donkeys in Fremont! Bring amigos (si tiene algunos) to the neighborhood on Sunday for a pub crawl sponsored by Black Rock Spirits and led by burros from nearby somewhere, and tailed by a mariachi band. Little known fact about donkeys: they are excellent at sniffing out Cinco de Mayo deals. Follow their noses to some discounted Mexican flavors. Little known fact about the previous little known fact: it wasn't true by the strictest definition of the word.

Tommy Gun
Sadly, the Capitol Hill bar won't be bringing in donkeys as well. The kicks at Tommy Gun will instead come from a new 'Caliente Cocktail Menu' featuring Scrappy Bitters' Habanero Firewater. Tequila, mezcal, and Victoria drafts can be had from 5pm to close on this, the holiest celebration of unlikely victories over the French, but, again, there won't be donkeys, so...
