New Food Truck: Chopstix

Today we welcome Chopstix, the Asian fusion mobile of one May Wong, to the magical world of Seattle street food.
The formally trained Wong, a native of Hong Kong, has been in the food business for more than two decades now. She moved to Seattle about eight years ago, and also spent time in Portland, where, like so many curb cooks, she took inspiration.
Wong promises Asian home-style cuisine with some modern, Western inflections. Among her staples are a ratatouille sandwich, Asian pulled pork, and Peking duck tacos (her personal favorite). Find those alongside three rotating weekly specials. Say, pockets filled with honey walnut prawns or tzatziki-topped lamb; boeuf au vin or kimchi and pork belly sandwiches; pastas garnished with roasted garlic clams, kung pao shrimp, or ground pork, tofu, and spicy ma po sauce. There are sweets, too: coconut crème brulee and spring rolls of red bean paste, cream cheese, and dolce de leche.
Chopstix makes its debut on Occidental Avenue during tonight’s Mariner’s game, and will continue to park there for more M’s games as well as Sounders matches. Starting June 18 (probably) Wong is in South Lake Union on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and the following week, outside the P-I building on Tuesday and Thursday. Keep track of Wong’s whereabouts on the Chopstix website.
