It seems change is the only constant at Eastlake’s Little Water Cantina: Starting next Wednesday, October 12 there will be a brand new dinner menu with mostly new dishes, and the Mexican eatery will start serving lunch that day. (During lunch service, it is asked that you refer to the restaurant as “The Torta Shop at Little Water.”) The midday menu of tortas includes a briscuit ’wich and a tofu torta.

But when the Seattle food gods giveth, they also taketh away your corn dogs. Brave Horse Tavern says its beloved hand-dipped sausages on a stick will go into hiberation on Friday. One assumes that they will reappear on the menu come spring.

In other news, it may be time for a trip out to Orcas Island. Lisa Nakamura, chef owner of Allium on Orcas, says she’s doing a $35, three-course meal every Thursday and Friday in October. Call the restaurant for details.

Or, just swing over to Madrona and do some do-goody drinking. Seeing as its National Breast Cancer Awareness month, Madrona’s Bottlehouse will donate five percent of all rose wine sales to breast cancer research.

On the Ballard beat, Seattle Times happy hour guru Tan Vinh says there’s a new HH menu at Mosh Moshi in Ballard.

And nearby on Ballard Ave, Volterra will debut its new fall menu this week. “Berkshire Pork Rib Eye with farro & sautéed romanesco may be coming soon,” reads the teasing tweet from a restaurant rep.
