In August, the eagle eyes over at CHS Blog noticed an El Camino outside East Pike Street hipster magnet Big Mario’s that bore the pizzeria’s logo on its doors. The discovery prompted conjecture that Dave Meinert’s New York-style pizzeria was about to start bringing the pies to doors nearby.

Today: Confirmation. An email blast from Meinert (owner of Five Point Cafe, organizer of Capitol Hill Block Party) reveals that Big Mario’s begins delivering Monday, September 19.

Two other things the press materials tell us:

1. If you order food on Thursday, Big Mario himself will bring the pie to your door. I don’t know what that means, or why you’d want that. But I feel the need to tell you about it.

2. Order a pie between September 19 and October 19, and you will have an opportunity to win free food. Apparently the delivery person flips a coin to the answerer of the door, and if the answerer of the door catches it, he/she is not charged for the order.
