Neighborhood Food News: Zaw Opens Wallingford Storefront, Belle Epicurean Debuts in Madison Park

Plus: Nettletown closes, Poco’s new chef, and more.

No more of these elk meatball sandwiches. Nettletown is closed.

BALLARD
Bastille is partnering with Sozo Friends wines to help feed those in need. Ordering a glass of the 2009 “Potential” pinot noir ($16) provides two meals for the Ballard Food Bank. Purchasing a bottle at $80 provides ten meals.

BELLEVUE
Z’Tejas Southwestern Grill in Bellevue Square is offering a special Chile Fest menu September 6 through 25. The menu includes appetizers, lunch and dinner entrees, and drink and dessert specials. For every entree sold, Z’Tejas will donate $1 to Bellevue LifeSpring.

CAPITOL HILL
Poco Wine Room welcomes a new chef, Zephyr Paquette. You may recall earlier this month owners Peter Moore and Bart Reynolds put the Pine Street wine bar up for sale. They plan to announce who’s buying “later this year.”

EASTLAKE
Owner Christina Choi has closed Nettletown. The wee eatery’s last day of service was August 28; it opened in the spring of 2010.

MADISON PARK
Madison Park Blogger reports Belle Epicurean, a Parisian bakery and cafe that took over the spot once occupied by Island Video, is in the midst of a soft opening, to run through Labor Day. This is Seattle’s second Belle Epicurean, the original is located in the Fairmont Hotel downtown.

WALLINGFORD
Zaw Artisan Pizza opened its newest location at 4612 Stone Way North over the weekend, according to Wallyhood.
