Neighborhood Food News: Shima Sushi in Wallingford, a French Bistro for Mount Baker

No more Barrio tacos for Bellevue.

BEACON HILL
Bar del Corso is scheduled to open July 12 at 3057 Beacon Avenue South, reports Beacon Hill Blog.

BELLEVUE
The Bellevue Towers outpost of Barrio, operated by the Heavy Group, has shuttered, according to Nancy Leson, and the space is to be turned into an events hall. Hanna Raskin at Seattle Weekly reports three-quarters of Barrio’s employees have been reassigned to other restaurants within the Heavy Group domain.

CAPITOL HILL
Taylor Shellfish Farm ’s newest store is open at 1521 Melrose Avenue, in the Melrose Market. A grand opening celebration is scheduled for July 21.

LESCHI
Leschi BluWater is hosting a benefit for Seattle restaurant industry vet Kristal Lana, who has been diagnosed with advanced breast cancer. The July 18 benefit, called Love Life. Love Lana. F*ck Cancer., will feature an auction as well as cocktails by Murray Stenson.

MOUNT BAKER
Eater says A La Bonne Franquette is eyeing an early August open. Expect a French menu with African influences.

UNIVERSITY DISTRICT
Piatti is celebrating summer with a $25 three-course prix fixe menu available Saturday through Wednesday. On Saturdays, chef Felix Acosta will host cooking classes featuring Italian favorites like gnocchi and risotto. See the Piatti website for more information and to make reservations.

WALLINGFORD
Shima, a sushi joint from the folks at Hawaiian Breeze, is open at 4429 Wallingford Avenue reports My Wallingford. Regular hours are weeknights 5–10 and Fridays and Saturdays 5–midnight.

Word at Wallyhood is Bill the Butcher is opening a new storefront on Stone Way and 47th Street.
