Neighborhood Food News: Skillet Diner Opens on Capitol Hill, Greenwood’s Yard Café

A year’s worth of Theo Chocolate could be yours.

BELLTOWN
The retro Lucky Diner is looking to debut early next week at 2630 First Avenue, says Eater. Late-night grub can be had until 4am. : The diner won’t be opening until the week of May 30.

Tavolàta ’s June 5 Sunday Feast will feature grass-fed prime rib. The four-course meal, served at the communal table, costs $65 and seating is limited to 26 diners. Call for reservations.

CAPITOL HILL
Skillet Diner, the long-awaited brick-and-mortar version of Skillet Street Food, is open at 1400 East Union.

FREMONT
Theo Chocolate is holding a t-shirt design contest, reports Fremont Universe. The winner receives $250 cash, a year’s supply of chocolate, and a free t-shirt, of course. Submissions are due May 30. Check out the blog for entry details.

GREENWOOD
The Yard Café, from the operators of popular Ballard beer bar The Dray, is open at 8313 Greenwood Avenue North. The menu features shared plates and there is plenty of outdoor seating.

MADRONA
The Molly Moon’s micro-shop will open on Tuesday at 3 at 1408 34th Avenue. Free kids’ cones will be scooped until 5. Watch for Mollypops, a new sorbet popsicle treat.

MERCER ISLAND
Deli, eatery, and bakery Stopsky’s Delicatessen drew large crowds in its first week, even running out of food on opening day.

WALLINGFORD
Trophy Cupcakes has opened a party room at its Wallingford Center storefront. The room can accommodate up to 50 people, and the cupcakery offers custom or preplanned parties.
