For our Food Lovers’ Guide Jess Voelker hung out atop Bastille restaurant in Ballard with chef Shannon Galusha, who uses the rooftop to grow various lettuces, herbs, and honey. JV dug (har) the experience.
You, too, can take a peek tonight. Galusha and Colin McCrate of Seattle Urban Farms are leading a tour of the garden starting at 5pm. The two will go over what’s growing and how the victuals can be incorporated in the kitchen. The tour costs $10, which gets you one cocktail made with ingredients from the garden. Call 206-453-5014 to reserve your spot.
And watch out for those honeybees, word has it they are feisty.
