Pretty Ladies Get Better Tips

As if everyone didn’t already know this.

Sookie Stackhouse: hot waitress.

Apparently if you’re a female server, being hot means you get better tips, according to results from a new Cornell University study. If you’re a woman and you have ever worked in a restaurant, this is something you already know.

From Restaurant-Hospitality.com:
“Waitresses completed an online survey about their physical characteristics, self-perceived attractiveness and sexiness, and average tips. The waitresses’ self-rated physical attractiveness increased with their breast sizes and decreased with their ages, waist-to-hip ratios, and body sizes. Moreover, the waitresses’ tips varied with age in a negative, quadratic relationship, increased with breast size, increased with having blonde hair, and decreased with body size."

I did learn something new from reading this article. The term for restaurants like Hooters, where lady servers are forced to dress scantily, is "breastaurant."

Let’s see you use that one 250 times in one year, New York Times.
