World Cup Watch: Art Restaurant’s Kicky Soccer Concept

Classy digs for watching soccer: Art Lounge in the Four Seasons
UPDATE: The lunch will be available starting June 14, dinner begin June 11. Both specials run through July 11.
The Four Seasons seems like an odd spot in which to hang out and watch soccer matches. But don’t forget that Kerry Sear, Executive chef at the Art Restaurant and Lounge, hails from that part of the world where obsessing about soccer is what normal people do. (He’s from England.)
Also, the man loves a theme party.
Friday, June 14 through July 11, Sear has planned a four-course lunch that will be served on TV trays. Each of these four courses is themed around a continent: the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa. A continental lunch, you might call it, if you were going to make a dumb joke that doesn’t quite work.
Lunch costs $20.10. (Get it?) Dinner, which begins June 11, is an $80 prix-fixe (beverage pairing for $40) with eight courses. Here, the courses correspond with World-Cup contending countries (Brazil, Uruguay, England, France, and so on).
A special World Cup snacks menu in the lounge includes pickled eggs and homemade potato chips with sour cream dip. I have to say, I love the way Sear goes all out for special events. There’s something so sweet about it.
