Not Easy Being Green

Fonte Cafe and Wine Bar Earns Green Stamp of Approval…

…joining just one other Seattle restaurant. Guess which one?

Going Green

Fonte Cafe and Wine Bar has earned green certification from the non-profit industry group, the Green Restaurant Association.

Cited in the award were Fonte’s practice of discounting drinks in re-usable mugs, providing compostable to-go containers, serving water upon request only, using energy-efficient lighting and kitchen equipment, cleaning with non-toxic cleansers, low-flow faucets in restrooms, and more.

The cafe proved so deeply green, in fact, it earned half again the points needed for the GRA certification. Bravo Fonte.

Only four other establishments in the state have earned this particular nod: Lake Crescent Lodge near Port Angeles, the employee cafes at Microsoft and Real Networks, and—the only other Seattle restaurant—Tidbit Bistro on North Capitol Hill.
