El Diablo at Tango.

If you’re itching for Mexican or Spanish food, here are three restaurants featuring specials tonight: Friday February 12.

Cactus in Madison Park is offering a plate of three bacon-wrapped grilled scallops for $8, plus a side dish of jalapeños stuffed in goat cheese with a buttermilk crema ($6-$9)—those are also wrapped in bacon.

Muy casual Agua Verde Cafe, nestled in the Paddle Club on the UW side of Portage Bay, dishes up tamales every Friday night. This week corn masa tamales with shredded pork and cotija cheese come wrapped in banana leaves. You get two, accompanied by green rice and pinto beans, for $11.25.

Or try something Spanish(ish) at Capitol Hill’s Tango Restaurant and Lounge, where the special Valentine’s menu starts tonight. For $55, you get four courses plus a glass of Spanish cava. Start with shrimp bisque, move on to the habanero-spiked Dungeness crab, then grilled rack of lamb, followed by legendary El Diablo: a bittersweet, dark-chocolate cake laced with cayenne, almonds, cocoa nibs, meringue, and tequila caramel. Also note: $3 valet parking is available 100 yards west at the Pike Street Homewood Suite Hotel.

Buen provecho.
