Cabaret Dinners Heat Up January

Va va voom.
El Gaucho just announced a new lineup of burlesque shows for the coming year.
That’s right, burlesque shows. The legendary steakhouse with the tableside salads and flaming steaks has planned a half-year of racy cabaret in its adjacent Pampas Room—two shows a month, both on Fridays, for $100 to $225 per person depending on your seat, now till June.
Tickets include a four-course feast of delicacies like lobster crostini and filet mignon with truffle demi glace and chocolate ganache, along with delicious views of entertainers from Fuchsia Foxxx to Miss Indigo Blue to my high school buddy, Paula the Swedish Housewife.
(Really. I went to high school with Paula, who wasn’t yet a Swedish housewife but was voted Mostly Likely to Become a Legendary Burlesque Star. Wonderful woman, outrageous performer. Don’t take my word for it.)
Last time I saw Paula she was swingin’ it at The Pink Door, which as luck would have it just released its upcoming schedule. Sundays: Tamara the Trapeze Artist. Mondays: San Francisco aerial hoop artist Rachel Strickland. And, as ever, Saturday night cabaret extravaganzas to put the pasties in your pasta, 11pm to close.
Well…not in your pasta. You know what I mean.
