Stressed at the Thought of Thanksgiving Dinner?

Gobble up some tom turkey without the hassle of DIY.
If you’re stressin’ about that holiday dinner you volunteered to host (T minus two weeks!), you’re in luck. This weekend SAM pastry chef Lucy Damkoehler and Jim Drohman of Café Presse will visit several farmers markets to dish tips for incorporating local, sustainable ingredients into your holiday spread.
The toques will also talk about wowing guests with easy-prep dishes (Drohman will roast winter squash soup and show off a pumpkin cake; last year’s featured dishes included confetti mashes potatoes and poached pears in raspberry wine). Stick around for the brief cooking demonstration and—here’s the best part—free samples.
Damkoehler is at the University District Farmers Market Nov. 14 from noon-1pm; catch Drohman at the Broadway Sunday Farmers Market at noon. Both events are free and open to the public. —Kaitlin Nunn and Hayley Poole
