Plenty of tasty news today from Skillet, the haute-street-food-and-diner enterprise that seems bent on keeping Seattle fat and half in the bag: Joshua Henderson tells me that he has delivered on the promised happy hour at his Capitol Hill diner.

When I last talked to him, Henderson spoke only of a late-night HH. But what shook out was this: Every day between the hours of 3 to 6pm the diner is serving a discounted menu that includes $7 featured snacks and select cocktails, and $1 off draft beer, wine, and well drinks. From 10pm to midnight Sunday through Thursday, the drink specials are available again. But not the food, see? The HH snacks are served in the early evening only.

The current menu has two imaginatively conceived treats: Lamby Joes—lamb sloppy joes with chorizo, caramelized fennel, and garam masala aioli on brioche—and Giant Nachos, with braised rabbit, piquillo peppers, heirloom tomato pico de gallo, refried white bean, and Asadero cheese sauce. It also features four inscrutably named cocktails: the Violet Femme, Marching Bands of Manhattan, Alison Road, and the Baptist. I have a query in with Skillet bartender Jeff Greer regarding what’s in them, will update when I hear back. (Remember: Bartenders keep vampire hours).

In other HH news: the Seattle Times’ Nancy Leson revealed recently that Crush has started offering a happy hour menu.

Leson says the menu features snacks between $4 and $12 and flights of wine—$12 for three three-ounce pours.

Crush’s happy hour runs Sundays through Fridays from 5 to 7pm.
