New Alfresco Options

Hang in there, Seatowners, we’re getting more glimmers of sunshine. For when those rays decide to stick around, here’s a rundown of new dine outside destinations.
The deck at just-opened Little Water Cantina really stands out as a winner. The alfresco area at the bar-restaurant on the north end of Eastlake accommodates 50 and offers unhindered views of Lake Union. That means margaritas, sun, and sailboats—pretty much summer in a nutshell.
Also lakeside and also a south-of-the-border sort, Kirkland’s Milagro Cantina has open-air seating for 100 (with soffits throwing heat, neato). Plus the dining room is flanked by ceiling-high retractable windows.
Poquitos boasts the mother of all patios. It’s enclosed, heated, and juiced up with a full bar, fire pits, oversized booths that combined seat almost 60, and lots of decorative flair. Really, it’s just an extension of the bedazzled interior. But, the windows do roll up on each side, so the open-air effect is (sorta) there.
True, it belongs more in the bar category, but Sun Liquor on Pike Street does flip burgers and more importantly, just a couple weeks ago set up a sizable chunk of sidewalk seating.
Golden Beetle in Ballard is due soon for seating on the side, and Homegrown on Queen Anne has said to expect the same. 50 North is already at it.
The official unveil date isn’t until after Memorial Day, but Revel has fed some of its many fans on the 35-seater looking toward Fremont Canal. The patio is great news, and not just because of the fire pit—more seating could signal a cut in wait times. Crikey do those tables fill up fast.
And finally, there’s the “beer garden” at Marination Station, providing much-needed room for another dozen or so eaters (the inside is teensy). Actually it’s just a closed-off courtyard by the entrance, but as Marination’s website puts it: “Why call it a patio when we also have beer!” Fair enough.
