First Look: Marination Station

In just a few weeks, street food fixture Marination Mobile opens a permanent outlet on Capitol Hill.

Brick-and-mortar it be, Marination Station is in many ways a dupe of its four-wheeled forerunner, Marination Mobile.

Consider the menu: it’s the same, save a few additional rotating specials, and the color scheme—same, too, a rich blue, with the truck’s shiny stainless steel adorning the counter where orders are taken. You, dear diner, will pay for your kimchi rice bowl on the right side of that long, open counter, then scoot down the line and pick it up on the other end, all while taking in the action of the quite cozy kitchen. Sound familiar?

Still, a new, permanent venture is bound to give rise to some novelties. Like seating, but also more hours, free (and easy) parking, and—here’s the biggie—beer and wine.
