Now I'm Fine
Local trumpeter and comedian Ahamefule Oluo found inspiration at his lowest point. Over the course of a single year when he faced death, divorce, and debilitating illness, he developed Now I’m Fine, a one-of-a-kind hybrid of pop opera and comedic storytelling that premiered in 2012. Oluo restages the personal production once more before moving onto other projects. On the Boards, $25.

Mary Poppins
From spoonfuls of sugar to tongue-twisting gibberish words, the Village Theatre brings magical nanny Mary Poppins to the stage in all her musical glory. The whole family can enjoy the umbrella flying and chimney-sweep dancing of the Disney classic. Village Theatre, Issaquah, $40–$52.

The Great Society
Seattle playwright Robert Schenkkan struck Tony Award gold this year with All the Way, a dramatic look at the first term of president Lyndon B. Johnson (played on the Broadway stage by Bryan Cranston) and his struggles with the Civil Rights Act and Vietnam War. Now Seattle Rep world premieres All the Way’s sequel, The Great Society, about LBJ’s turbulent but impactful second term. Seattle Repertory Theatre, $22–$127.

SMooCH Benefit 2014
KEXP and Sub Pop Records team up to sponsor the third edition of Seattle of the holiday Seattle Musicians for Children's Hospital (SMooCH) Benefit. The concert has an unmissable music lineup that includes Shabazz Palaces, Iron and Wine, Ben Bridwell (Band of Horses), and THEESatisfaction. Additionally, there will be to beer, wine, appetizers, a silent auction, and a special guest DJ. The Showbox, $60–$250.

The 28th Annual Great Figgy Pudding Street Corner Caroling Competition
Get into the holiday spirit by coming to watch competing teams of carolers sing on street corners around Westlake Center. At the end of the night, the top teams will take the Figgy Main Stage for a sing-off. All proceeds benefit the Pike Market Senior Center and Food Bank. Westlake Center, $10 (suggested donation).

Seven Samurai
Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2014, and Northwest Film Forum honors the Japanese masterpiece with a special one-night 16mm screening. Richard D. Pepperman, the author of Everything I Know About Filmmaking I Learned from Seven Samurai, will introduce the film via Skype. Northwest Film Forum, $11.

E.O. Wilson
E. O. Wilson is a biological mashup artist. The two-time Pulitzer-winning scientist pioneered the field of sociobiology (which studies social behavior as a result of evolution) and he combines fact and philosophy in his latest book, The Meaning of Human Existence. As the title suggests, Wilson really isn’t that interested in the little questions. Town Hall, sold out.

Seahawks at Philadelphia Eagles
Richard Sherman and the rest of the Seahawks’ standout pass defense face a real test when they visit the NFC East champion Eagles. The game is crucial as both teams fight for playoff spots and positioning for home field advantage. Huskies fans would also love to humiliate current Eagles coach (and former Oregon coach) Chip Kelly for all the times his Ducks tormented UW. Televised on FOX.
