It'll still be at least a year until KEXP moves into its new Seattle Center digs, but the station is already offering listeners a chance to get excited about the location (and help out). The station celebrates its eventual move with All In: The Rally for KEXP's New Home on July 10 at 6. The event will feature a beer garden, a speech by DJ John Richards, and a surprise musical performance. Considering KEXP's track record, the unannounced musical performer will likely be quite the treat. ***Update: It's the Cave Singers.***

The event takes place at the outside the station's future home - the Seattle Center's Northwest Rooms at the corner of Republican Street and 1st Avenue North. While progress may seem slow (a byproduct of the extra regulations with Seattle Center being a historical site), KEXP still tentatively plans to have an official groundbreaking this December and hopes to be finished with construction by the end of 2015. The design plans for the new studio will offer the music-loving public a chance to see KEXP's famed in-studio performances as they happen, as well as a secondary indoor performance space.

The rally also launches the "All In" donation drive. From July 10 through August 5, all dontations made to KEXP in support of the new building will be matched by a collective of Seattle music heavy hitters like Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews, and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.
