Deft use of space can transform art’s impact. Such is the case with acclaimed projection artist Jennifer Steinkamp's latest exhibit, Shimmering Tree. Starting November 9, Steinkamp enlarges her work Mike Kelley to engulf an entire gallery wall at Tacoma Art Museum with the image of a tree that shimmers in digital breezes. The projection of the tree changes over the course of 11-minute cycles to reflect a year's worth of seasonal changes. It's a larger-than-life sensory exploration of the beautiful fragility of nature.
