Heart, Quincy Jones Inducted Into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Along with Public Enemy, Donna Summer, Lou Adler, Randy Newman, Al King, and...Rush.

By Laura Dannen December 11, 2012

In: the late Donna Summer, singer-songwriter Randy Newman (doomed to be "the guy on the Toy Story soundtracks"), hip-hop pioneers Public Enemy, blues guitarist Albert King, superproducer and manager Lou Adler (lifetime achievement award), Seattle's own Quincy Jones (lifetime achievement award) and rockers Heart, and—after years of aggressive lobbying by fans—Canadian prog-rock trio Rush.

Snubbed: Chic, Deep Purple, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Kraftwerk, the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, N.W.A., the Marvelettes, the Meters, and Procul Harum.

The induction ceremony will take place April 28, 2013 in Los Angeles.
