Coming to NWFF: 'Universal Pictures: Celebrating 100 Years'

Film Forum screens new 35mm prints of The Birds, Jaws, and more.

Universal Pictures’ hit reel is mighty after 100 years of filmmaking: The Birds. The Sting. The Incredible Shrinking Man. Frankenstein. Dracula. All Quiet on the Western Front. Pillow Talk. Jaws. (Let's ignore its recent aquisition of the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy.)

To celebrate its centennial, the film studio has sent these classics and more on the road, many in new 35mm prints. Northwest Film Forum plays host to Universal Pictures: Celebrating 100 Years starting November 2, which means we can continue our Halloween movie marathon into the weekend with a little Birds-Frankenstein-Dracula action. Or maybe we'll just dedicate our time to Robert Redford. It's a win-win. *By the way: NWFF will serve free popcorn to anyone who shows up in costume to one of tonight's film screenings.
