Met Picks: Jeff Bridges and the Abiders, Dude Fest, Sixth Annual Seattle Bike-In

Would love to see Jeff Bridges make a run at an EGOT.
CONCERT Even though Jeff Bridges won an Oscar playing a washed-up country singer in Crazy Heart, he’s giving his music career a real shot this summer. The Dude and his band the Abiders (would you expect nothing less?) play new music and songs from the movie at Chateau Ste. Michelle. Aug 28.
And just in case that wasn’t enough Jeff Bridges for you, Fremont Outdoor Movies closes out its summer screenings with The Dude Fest on Saturday. Relive Jeff’s most notorious role in the Coen brothers’ 1998 cult comedy The Big Lebowski and stick around for the after party. Raise a White Russian: The fest also supports a local charity. Aug 27.
MORE CONCERTS This is pretty cool: JanSport is sponsoring a free campfire concert with local roots rockers the Moondoggies at a secret location on Saturday. The first 125 to show up at the bus stop on the corner of E. Pike St and 10th Ave at 6pm will be shuttled to the concert and back again at the end of the night. Aug 27.
Following a recent (and very public) divorce, Ben Harper has turned all that raw emotion into one of his most heartfelt albums to date, Give Till It’s Gone. Hear the new Ben at Marymoor Park. Aug 27.
One’s exposure to Santana shouldn’t be limited to Guitar Hero. Take the kids to see the real-life guitar hero at White River Amphitheatre. Aug 25.
An Out to Lunch glass of wine at Lecosho and live reggae by Clinton Fearon and Boogie Brown Band at Harbor Steps? Yes, please. Aug 26 at noon.
It’s the final Concerts at the Mural this Friday with Pickwick, Drew Grow and the Pastors’ Wives, and Ravenna Woods. Aug 26.
GET OUTTA TOWN A lot of these bands we’ve already mentioned—the Moondoggies, Clinton Fearon, plus Star Anna and the Laughing Dogs—make the trip to Stanwood Camano Community Fairgrounds this weekend for the first-ever Slow Food Roots Music Festival. Carpool and go local. Aug 27 & 28.
VISUAL ART For over 15 years Andy Warhol used a Polaroid Big Shot to capture celebrities and artists, turning their portraits into now-famous silkscreens and paintings. The Henry’s exhibit of Polaroids by Andy Warhol gives a glimpse into his artistic process. Thru Oct 30.
OUTDOOR FILMS Ride over to Cal Anderson Park for the Sixth Annual Seattle Bike-In and a special screening of the 1986 flick Quicksilver!, featuring Kevin Bacon as a bike messenger (yesss).
