Met Picks: Corella Ballet, SRO Plays Queen, Meet Ewan McGregor

Now “Bohemian Rhapsody” is stuck in your head! Muahaha. SRO plays Queen on Saturday.

CONCERTS The 60-member Seattle Rock Orchestra pays tribute to Queen’s breakout album, A Night at the Opera, at the Moore with favorites like “Bohemian Rhapsody” and the eight-minute “Prophet’s Song.” May 21.

Producer Mark Trombino brings out the best in the ’90s alt-rockers Jimmy Eat World (big guitars, catchy melodies, whiffs of punk). They reunite on new album Invented; hear it live at Showbox SoDo tonight. May 20.

The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill continues as the gifted songstress/MC performs remixes of classics from her solo album and her Fugees days at Showbox SoDo. Let’s just hope she doesn’t show up two hours late. May 22.

DANCE Corella Ballet, Spain’s only classical ballet company and the troupe of former American Ballet Theatre principal Ángel Corella, graces UW’s Meany Hall this weekend. May 20 & 21.

POSTER SHOW Every music act at Sasquatch!, from Foo Fighters to the Flaming Lips, gets its own piece of artwork to commemorate the event; more than 60 band posters are on display at art bar Vermillion, starting tonight. (View a slideshow of images from Sasquatch! Poster Show.) May 20–29.

FILM FEST Seattle International Film Festival is in full swing, with Ewan McGregor making an appearance this Sunday to receive the Golden Space Needle Award for Outstanding Achievement in Acting. THEATER Theater Schmeater reimagines Quentin Tarantino’s debut film Reservoir Dogs for the stage; in Reservoir Dolls, ladies tote the guns, and everyone wants the code name “Ms. Pink.” May 20–June 18.

SPECIAL EVENT Fans of the popular Discovery Channel TV show Deadliest Catch will have the opportunity to attend a private tour and seafood barbecue aboard Sig Hansen’s famous F/V Northwestern at the docks of Pacific Fishermen Shipyard in Ballard. May 22.
