Dinosaurs at Woodland Park Zoo

It’s official: T-Rex has puny arms.

By Laura Dannen May 5, 2011

It’s like our own little Jurassic Park. According to the My Wallingford blog, 10 life-size animatronic dinosaurs have rolled in from Texas for a new summer exhibit at Woodland Park Zoo. Now through September 5, kids can peer up at a 19-foot-tall Brachiosaurus, pet a thorny Styracosaurus, and even ride a T-Rex. The dinos snarl, roar, and bop; thankfully, they don’t spit venom. It’s not quite Spielberg quality, but let’s be honest—what is? Dinosaurs: Real Close comes to us courtesy of Billings Productions, a company that specializes in animatronic dinos for zoos and museums. I hope it’s next door to the company that packages fairy dust and moonbeams.
