Dave Matthews Band Will Play the Gorge After All

And he’s bringing friends—lots of them.

Dave Matthews’s new Caravan tour gives Bumbershoot some Labor Day weekend competition.

That whole “taking a year off” thing didn’t last long. The Dave Matthews Band just announced it will return for another Labor Day weekend gig at the Gorge this year, but this time, there’s a "caravan" of acts joining. Starting with: Dispatch (on its first reunion tour in a decade!), the Roots, the John Butler Trio, Gogol Bordello, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Josh Ritter and the Royal City, Blind Pilot, the Moondoggies, and Lindsay Fuller. Watch out, Bumbershoot, DMB has its own music festival now.

The Dave Matthews Band Caravan runs Sept 2-4, with multiple bands playing multiple stages and Dave’s crew headlining the mainstage each night. Northwesterners should count themselves lucky—the Gorge is one of only four stops on the tour this year, and the only one on the West Coast. Some bands, like Moondoggies, Blind Pilot, and the John Butler Trio, will be playing exclusively at the Gorge.

Presale tickets go on sale for DMB Warehouse members next Thursday, April 28 and for Citi cardmembers on May 2. Everyone else can get tickets starting on May 6 at 10am at dmbcaravan.com or by calling 800-594-TIXX. They’re $195 for a three-day pass, which you can buy on a payment plan. We kid you not. More info to come.
