There Are No Words… Cirque du Soleil/Michael Jackson "The Immortal World Tour" Comes to Seattle

By Laura Dannen November 5, 2010

Can’t we let a legend rest in peace for a little while? Got this in my inbox a few minutes ago: Michael Jackson "The Immortal" World Tour by Cirque du Soleil comes to KeyArena on Nov 9, 2011 — that’s a full year to make plans. I…don’t know what to say.

So I’ll let the press release explain:

"Michael Jackson THE IMMORTAL [Editor’s note: Caps lock only bestowed on immortals] World Tour by Cirque du Soleil is a riveting fusion of visuals, dance, music and fantasy that immerses audiences in Michael’s creative world and literally turns his signature moves upside down. Aimed at lifelong fans as well as those experiencing Michael’s creative genius for the first time, the show captures the essence, soul and inspiration of the King of Pop, celebrating a legacy that continues to transcend generations."

The initial idea was to "bring Michael to the fans" and create the feeling of his concerts in an arena setting, John Branca, coexecutor of the Jackson estate, told the LA Times. Tickets for the Key Arena show go on sale this Saturday, Nov 6, at noon on ticketmaster.com.

I swear, if they exhume MJ’s body for an encore, I’m never watching "Thriller" again.
