Gregory Awards Announced, Changes at Intiman

Updates on the Seattle’s theatre scene.

By Laura Dannen November 2, 2010

NEWS. Intiman Theatre announced yesterday that managing director Brian Colburn has resigned for personal reasons, and that development director Melaine Bennett has been appointed acting managing director by the board of directors. Not much else is known about Colburn’s departure; it comes just two years after he joined Intiman—hired from the Pasadena Playhouse, where he was managing director—to work alongside then-artistic director Bart Sher. He had two years left on his contract. Bennett is also relatively new to the organization: hired in March 2009, with a resume that included development work at South Coast Repertory, La Jolla Playhouse and Theater of the Stars in Atlanta. She will manage the theater’s financial operations, effective today.
