Lawrimore Project reopened this week in a new space at 117 S. Main Street, Suite 101—we’ll call it a cozy sliver of the Union Trust Annex building—with a new Isaac Layman exhibit, Taking Pictures. It’s a bit of a departure from Layman’s last show, 110%, since the photographer isn’t really displaying any…photos. He still addresses photography as a concept: His Favorite Things (balsamic vinegar, a bottle of Jack, an empty cigarette box) line a wall, reminding us that a photographer always chooses his subjects and frames them accordingly. Check it out; the exhibit’s on display through October 2.
