Our only complaint? A huge line at Will Call to get into the sold-out event, stretching down Pike and around 12th to La Spiga at one point.
Summer sunshine lingered as the party got under way.
The beer garden had its own barricade, which started looking as tipsy as the people behind it.
Block Partiers get in the groove as Holy Fuck enticed the crowd with its electronic magic.
Yeasayer played a dance-friendly set as the sun descended behind the main stage.
For those not so keen on moshing, parking meters, apartment windows and second-story bars provided balcony seating.
Holy Fuck had the entire block under its electronic spell.
MGMT’s certainly taking a different…approach with their new, mellower album. Thankfully, they closed out the night with three high-energy dance songs from back albums, including "Kids."
We were all jealous of the people with rooftop access and balcony views—they even had squirt guns.
Though a perch atop a friend’s shoulders wasn’t a bad seat, either.
MGMT may not be back tomorrow or Sunday, but we’ll be on Pike the rest of the weekend!
