SAM Remix — with its late-night drinking and dancing, stilt walkers and “highly opinionated” art tours —returns on August 27, and we’re getting our tickets now. That’s right: a month in advance. Why so early? Because the reincarnated SAM Remix is the hot new girl in school, the one you need to ask to prom six months before just to have a fighting chance.

The last two sold-out Remixes boasted Harvey Danger’s Sean Nelson as a wandering minstrel, fashion shows, even a bearded lady competition. This ain’t no uptight art party. The latest is outdoors at Seattle Art Museum’s Olympic Sculpture Park, which means you get to mingle in the shadows of Alexander Calder’s Eagle as the sun sets over Elliott Bay—a view enhanced slightly by that absinthe cocktail you’re clutching. We’ll see you there.
