At the last SAM Remix in February, the line was so long I had to sneak in through the back entrance. I’m not kidding—and I’m also not going to tell you where that back entrance is, because I’d like to keep my job. The point is: This quarterly after-hours party at Seattle Art Museum has gotten popular, so be prepared this Friday.

Smooth Move No. 1 Be one of the first 100 people to show up in a wig, a la Andy Warhol, to get in for free. (For inspiration, check out our slideshow of SAM’s Andy Warhol Media Works exhibit.)
Smooth Move No. 2 Show up early, when the party starts at 8, and try your luck buying tickets at the door at 1st and Union.
Smooth Move No. 3 Become a SAM member and get "priority access" (which is better than no access) at all Remix events.

Remix is Friday, June 4, from 8pm-midnight.
Highlights include:

—Playlists by KEXP’s Kevin Cole, who’s a fan of David Bowie, Georgio Moroder, New York Dolls, Divine, LCD Soundsystem, and Grace Jones.
—Entry into the Kurt and Andy Warhol exhibits.
—T-shirt silkscreening at the Remix "Factory."
—Fashion show and presentation by Project Runway season 7 winner Seth Aaron Henderson.
Sean Nelson of Harvey Danger as a wandering minstrel.
—Performances by "effervescent Sylvia O’Stayformore with special guests OtterPop, an exhibitionist aquatic mammal, and Eva Androgyny, Seattle’s premiere androgynous drag queen."
—Design-your-own-cover-of-The Stranger contest.
— "Highly opinionated tours" of the galleries by local photographer Alice Wheeler and sculptor Jeffry Mitchell, whose work is featured in Kurt.

And, of course, wine, beer, and mixed drinks for sale, including a deceptively tasty absinthe cocktail.
