Concerts

This Weekend Only: Pink Martini, The Posies, Madeleine Peyroux

A concert every night? Totally doable.

FRIDAY: Pink Martini with Seattle Symphony, 8pm
The self-described “little orchestra” from Portland returns to Benaroya with a new album, Splendor in the Grass, and a cocktail of classical and jazz tunes, multilingual covers, and retro flair. Seattle’s own orchestra accompanies. Click here for tickets.

SATURDAY: The Posies @ the Crocodile, 8pm
Though the ’90s power-pop band got its start in Bellingham, the Posies have never played Seattle. Now they make things right with a performance of their well-loved 1993 album, Frosting on the Beater, plus new material from an album planned for release later this year. Click here for tickets.

SUNDAY: Madeleine Peyroux @ Jazz Alley, 10pm
Norah Jones’s Sunday show may have sold out at the Paramount, but this French-American chanteuse matches Jones’s smoky vocals note for note. She’s gone from performing on the streets to singing beats with the likes of k. d. lang, Steely Dan guitarist Walter Becker, and Jesse Harris. Catch her before she finishes her four-night run at Jazz Alley. Click here for tickets.
