Uptight Seattleites?

Video of Glee flash mob at Westlake Center.

By Laura Dannen April 13, 2010

Didn’t want to follow this too closely (kind of ruins the fun), but Seattle’s Glee flash mob apparently went off in three spots around town on Saturday: under the Space Needle, at Westlake Center, and at Occidental Park in Pioneer Square. People were grumbling about all the news coverage of planned dance rehearsals and the commericalism behind dancing for a TV show blah blah blah. Now, I’m admittedly a Glee fan (new season starts tonight opposite Lost, ugh), but if this had been a Battlestar Galactica flash mob, I’d still show the video. Free-coffee-at-Starbucks flash mob? Damn straight I’d show it. Because how often do you see so-called uptight Seattleites doing synchronized dancing in public? Plus, I love the bearded guy in a tie bopping his head around minute 1:25. If he’s having a good time, then it’s worth it.
