Be one of the first 100 people to get to Alliance Francaise de Seattle tonight before 7, and you’ll get to sit in on an interview with one of France’s most famous performers, Charlotte Gainsbourg, who recently won best actress at Cannes Film Festival for her role in Antichrist.

Also an accomplished singer-songwriter, the 38-year-old will talk about her new album, IRM, a collaboration with Beck influenced by a near-death experience she had in 2007. (Gainsbourg underwent surgery—and a series of MRIs, or IRMs in French—for a cerebral hemorrhage sustained during a water-skiing accident.) KEXP’s Jon Kertzer will moderate the discussion, which is in English with French translation.

Doors open at 6 at Alliance Française, 4649 Sunnyside Ave N #205. Free for members, $15 for non-members. If you plan to ask Gainsbourg a question, please bring it written down.

For more info, go to AFSeattle.org. Gainsbourg also plays a sold-out show tomorrow night at the Crocodile.
