Sigur Ros…Minus Three
I’m not sure what to think of this new single by Jonsi, front man of Icelandic band Sigur Ros who’s decided to try his luck solo. It’s practically a dance track—a far cry from his original plan to make a guitar-heavy, all-acoustic album. But as he says on his website, "somewhere along the line, it just sort of exploded." And now we have Go, a collection of nine tracks that will satisfy any Sigur Ros fan with its rich strings section, airy melodies, and Jonsi’s familiar falsetto that sounds like the aural equivalent of a little girl skipping on clouds…while eating cotton candy, and carrying a puppy. His debut album drops April 9—the same day he opens a two-night stint at Showbox SoDo. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 12; you can get them here.
