Live Nation Expands "No Service Fee" Deal

Program includes every amphitheater ticket sale

By Steve Wiecking June 8, 2009

After its "No Service Fee Wednesday" deal caused a significant (500%) increase in the average number of mid-week ticket sales, Live Nation announced today that on this Wednesday, June 10 at 12:01 am you can purchase tickets to shows at Live Nation amphitheaters without paying service fees—although, of course, "parking and certain venue fees and taxes still apply." Whatever. It’s a break, at least.

The acts playing locally include: Aerosmith; Blazed & Confused Tour (Snoop Dogg & Slightly Stoopid); Dave Matthews Band; New Kids on the Block; Nickelback; No Doubt; Rod Stewart; Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival (Marilyn Manson & Slayer); and the Warped Tour.

I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t suggest that a few of those names merit a "no fee, period—no, really, the show’s on us" Wednesday. But that’s me. Naturally, I’m thrilled that I can snap up those New Kids tickets at the cheaper rate. Ahem.
