Ticket Alert

Tapped In

Guest, McKean and Shearer work their Spinal chords

By Steve Wiecking March 3, 2009

The world’s best worst band rocks on.

Just announced: Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 6 at 10 am for Unwigged & Unplugged: An Evening with Christopher Guest, Michael McKean & Harry Shearer at the Paramount. It’s the 25th anniversary of This is Spinal Tap, the funniest spoof of the music industry ever made (hell, it’s arguably the movies’ most hysterical jab at the entertainment industry) and the men from Tap’s faux metal band—minus, of course, their elusive, occasionally exploding drummers—will be heading out on a multi-media acoustic tour that finds them out of their costumes but still, no doubt, out of their minds. The trio plan to just be themselves on stage while sharing sensitive renditions of Tap tunes like "Big Bottom" ("How can I leave this behind?") as well as the dead-on ditties from the folk music mockumentary A Mighty Wind and more. Check it all out here. And remember: On a scale of one to ten, these guys go to eleven.
