Animal Collective show their faces in Quincy (photo courtesy Adriano Fegundes)

Who knew going to Quincy to spend time mucking about the Gorge could sound tempting? As much as I hate the damn exclamation point required every time you mention Sasquatch! Music Festival, the punctuation is earned this year.

The lineup boasts hot locals like The Dutchess & Duke, Natalie Portman’s Shaved Head, and, of course, the already ubiquitous Fleet Foxes (whom Portland Monthly senior editor Bart Blasengame caught right before the blitz in an article for us last June).

The national acts constitute the best roster I’ve seen in a long while. All four original Jane’s Addiction members reunite. M. Ward celebrates his continuing rise (did you catch him on Letterman the other night? Dude’s looking happy). TV on the Radio can bask not only in the Eastern Washington sun but in the glow of all their year-end "best" mentions. There’s also Animal Collective, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Silversun Pickups, Of Montreal, Erykah Badu, The Decemberists, Santigold (can we admit girlfriend’s heard a lot of 80s music?), Gogol Bordello (god, I wish they’d bring Madonna with them to do that wonderfully whacked-out "La Isla Bonita" from the Live Earth concert), Devotchka, Peter Bjorn & John and…

…tickets go on sale Saturday, February 28 at 10am. Call Ticketmaster at 206-628-0888 or got to their site. The full fest schedule is here.
