Sun Liquor's Famed Eggnog Pops Up on Capitol Hill

Hello, lover. Soon you will be empty.
This time of year I get an inordinate amount of questions about Sun Liquor's famed aged eggnog. Every query is some variation of, "How can I buy some?"
As of this morning the answer is, "Quickly...at Sun Liquor's holiday popup shop." The storefront next door to the distillery (official address is 516 E Pike) is now stocked with bottles of the distillery's Hedge Trimmer gin and Sun rum, various bitters, and sampler packs. But the real drumroll should be directed at the vintage cooler in the corner. It contains more bottles of the obsession-inducing eggnog than I've ever seen in one place.
The popup will run December 11 to 18, from 11am to 7pm. The nog will go fast (I'll be shocked if there's any left by Saturday afternoon) but the space is full of other gifty ideas; look for some cocktail kits arriving next week. And because it's Sun Liquor, the room is also terrifically styled.
Both Sun Liquor cocktail bars will still pour the nog by the glass on Christmas Eve and Christmas day. And the four nearby Total Wine and More locations will have some bottles starting at 3pm tomorrow (Saturday the 12th).
Every year head distiller Erik Chapman proclaims this batch his best—but this year, he says, he really means it. His 2015 nog is a combo of bourbon, aged rum, and apple brandy made from Seattle Cider Co. cider.
