Crosscut Community Idea Lab
Local news website Crosscut is looking for input from Seattlites on how best to use the tech boom to create a more equitable and engaged society. In this first installment of planned recurring "community problem solving journalism" events, Crosscut has lit the nerd bat signal to rally folks with great ideas to put their thoughts and efforts toward this issue.
Attend to watch the proceedings and participate in judging the viability of the entrants' proposals.

Pacific Northwest Historics Karting Challenge
Northwest Historics is getting set for it's fifth annual fundraising kart race; the funds go to Seattle Children's Hospital. 25 teams of 4 will compete to get their names on the championship trophy helmet in one of two ways: winning the race, or, more prestigiously, raising the most money.
Donate to a team and attend the race at Pacific Raceways in Kent, or register your own team by June 10 if you want a chance at some hardware, glory, and to possibly save some kids' lives.

Ever wondered what someone around town looks like naked? Invite them to the Body Pride Ride and find out (or just, you know, buy them dinner and see what happens).
This year's ride completes a decade of bare-what-you-dare cycling to spread positive vibes about different body shapes and sizes by taking a circuitous route through Capitol Hill before joining the main body of the Pride Parade at 11:30 on 4th and Madison.
The Body Pride Ride Yahoo! group's about us link says, "The difference between public nudity and indecent exposure may seem subtle, but it is simple too (see RCW 9A.88.010)," so don't worry about legality. Just arrive, ditch whatever clothes you feel comfortable without, glob on some body paint during the 8–10:30am private painting party, and ride. No cameras or lewd behavior allowed.
