Potato-Based Obsessions
Slide Show: Tots Around the Clock
Our fascination with tater tots continues. Here's where to find them all day, every day.
It’s been nearly a decade since quoting Napoleon Dynamite was a thing, and yet tots continue to incite a particularly fervent sort of love. The classic tater tot is a creation of Oregon-founded Ore-Ida brand, hence these diminutive cylinders of fried potato are particularly beloved in the Northwest. So, too, is the totcho, at least according to the factual bastion that is Wikipedia. Newcomer Nacho Borracho is the latest local purveyor of this unholy hybrid of tater tot and nacho.
Seattle bars and restaurants have figured out how to spice tots up (literally) by adding seasonings, subbing them for hash brown patties or french fries or tortilla chips, and tricking them out in ways that you didn’t think were possible. And let’s be honest, they’re phenomenal just about any time during the day. Which is why we created this handy reference for where you can get some of our favorite tots at any hour—how convenient.
