For Thursday

Give Thanks and Give Back

This Thanksgiving, show your gratitude by donating food or time to local food banks and organizations, such as Seattle's Union Gospel Mission, a group that feeds and provides emergency care to Seattle's homeless.

Don't have enough food on your own plate? Join Toscana Pizzeria or Piecora's in Capitol Hill for their annual free Thanksgiving feasts for those in need.

Feed the Hungry/Volunteer Opportunities Around Capitol Hill, Thu, November 28, various times and locations.

For Wednesday

Drink Up and Talk Politics

Meet up with old and new left-leaning pals to talk about politics at Burien's monthly Drinking Liberally meeting. This event is open to all —no expertise required. (Ha. I imagine there's a good joke in there for Republicans.)

Drinking Liberally, Wed, November 27, 7pm, Mick Kelly's Irish Pub (in the back room), 435 SW 152nd St, Burien.

For Tuesday

Trouble in Toyland

Following its 28th annual toy report (see last year's report),  the consumer advocates at WashPIRG will present their findings about toxic and other potentially hazardous toys on the market this year.

Make sure to take good notes before buying holiday gifts for the little ones in your family.

Trouble in Toyland presentation, Tues, November 26, 10am, Pike Market Child Care and Preschool, Pike Place No. 222, free.
